Primary guitar is a custom Mustang-ish thing, usually boosted by the Lehle so it’s a bit more like a giant humbucker than a typical Mustang, going into a Twin, padded input on normal channel, been really enjoying the 6/6/6/6 setting lately. So right now, I’m going guitar > Lehle volume > Ct5 > Halberd > Microcosm > Shallow Water > Fuck > Accountant > Ditto > Modele B > amp. Let me go over the current state of the signal path, and then I’ll try and give my review of Microcosm. That’s not impossible, but I can’t bring myself to part with the end of chain looper, and feeding Microcosm with Ct5 is just maniacal amounts of fun, and is somehow far more useful and musical than I expected. I was originally fantasizing about it replacing my Ditto, Ct5, and both Meris pedals. I’ve been kinda agonizing over it since it arrived a couple weeks ago. Either it could replace a bunch of pedals and I’d save some money, or I’d be able to sell it nearly instantly and recoup what I paid if it didn’t work out. Chatting with another gearhead who was selling their Fabrikat to get a Microcosm led me to check it out, and after seeing that there were only 5 left for the preorder I jumped on it, thinking that there was no way I could lose on this one. So I came to Microcosm after drooling at videos of the Pladask Fabrikat. Per my last NPD, I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Pladask Elektrisk Draume and Tåken for a dang long while and they’re super hard to get! I filled the hole in my soul with the remarkable Mercury7 and Polymoon from Meris, but then somebody tipped me off to the existence of the new weirdo, magical, extremely deep design from Hologram: enter Microcosm. So I didn’t expect to do another NPD for a while, but eh, it’s the end of the world, so what the hell.
